Housed in the brand new multi-million dollar LC building, DeakinACTIVE opened its doors to its new home in November 2020. The LC building offers smooth architectural lines and a dynamic modern learning space with the DeakinACTIVE gym located on the ground level (B001) overlooking the Wellness Garden.

With 850sqm floorspace and a dedicated large group fitness area fitted with a glass skywall, the space is New York warehouse style with an industrial feel, concrete columns, high ceilings and exposed ductwork on view. With heaps of natural light from the full wall of windows, it’s an open and modern space to workout in!

Housing the world-famous Technogym equipment, these innovative machines offer the most complete range of cardio, strength and functional training equipment in the market today. Technology integrated machines that track your workout and let you watch your favourite sport or game on the screen right in front of you while you workout!

Enjoy the best experience by using your DeakinMOVES app to connect with all of the equipment in the gym. The Technogym equipment will automatically sync up with your personalised training program, displaying examples of the specific exercise and correct technique while your workout results will be automatically tracked into your DeakinMOVES account.

Burwood offers a variety of online and group fitness classes – indoors and out! We have a great mix of traditional  and functional strength training with a particular emphasis on getting the maximum amount of health, strength and wellness training out of group fit classes.

The variety of group fitness classes includes – Pilates, Yoga, HIIT, Core, Tabata, Boxing, MetaFIT, Spin and the brand new SkillAthletic classes.

Stadiums

Burwood now has a variety of court hire options:

Option 1: Located on Level 1 of the HE building are 2 full sized indoor basketball courts that are available to hire to play basketball, netball, volleyball, or badminton games. This space can also be outfitted to suit commercial or University needs such as function and events or testing rooms.

Option 2: Located on the Elgar Rd side of campus next to the new LC building, is the newly constructed multi purpose court. This is an outdoor, covered, full sized court with full lighting, electronics and scoreboard, and is available to hire to play basketball and futsal soccer. The outdoor court also has tiered seating for spectators.
